Publishing to local hard drive, and giving access permissions

Guest

I have just created my first, and small, website and published it to my local
hard drive in its own folder before making it public. I have zipped this and
emailed it (Outlook Express 6) to a second computer many miles away so that
party can assess it and provide me with comments prior to makinh it public.
However that party cannot access it because it says it is a 'restricted site'.

I assume from that the access permissions need to be changed, probably by me
before I publish to my local hard drive.

How can this be done?

The bit about restricted site comes from IE and can not be affected by
you. It is the users local settings.

gdas australia,

I would simply publish it to your host's server. If you don't tell anyone
about it, it would be a fluke for someone to see it before you are ready to
announce it to the world.

You will undoubtedly have some problems that will only be apparent to you
when published. "Preview in Browser" will not disclose all problems. You can
fix these as you discover them.
