Dan, did you ever figure out how to get your 'arrows' to go away? the
arrows on your local side mean that you need to publish your local file to
the remote file. (i am sure you know that, but for those who do not...) so
when you FINAILLY approve all those darn pages and are so proud of yourself
having spent three months checking links and making sure the pics are up and
all that, ... you FINALLY go to the ''PUBLISH'' button....!!!!
and then , nothing happens..........ggggggggrrrrrr...
so then you think you will out smart the remote host web site by going over
there...... getting into your files and (since you are so p.o'd you DELETE
all those files in the remote side...) ha ha you think

then you go back to your local side and punch the PUBLISH with a smile on
your face :>)

and then, nothing happens right!

well, i think that the remote host needs some of those files to
'communicate' with your local side... like all those stupid files that are
named... vti_cnf or vti_ what ever.....

i got so mad and i couldnt fix my site so i deleted everything (after i
backed it all up in my word) hehe was i smart or what?????

yeah, i opened my word and copy and pasted all my web pages into that
program to save me a lot of work... by the way, it works that way...

well, what i did was i started all over

i went to the web hosting and started their free pages.... i did not care
what the site looked like because i was going to publish from my own computer
after i got up and running.
so after i publlished with that host company, i went into my word doc and
started my front page web site all over again.

a whole bunch of work to tell you that...
i am still working on it...

well, i got made at my web hosting company and i told them that they should
be checking our web sites since we pay them 'hosting' fees and they should be
there to help us.... so i took my 8 web sites and deleted them and went to
another host...

needless to say, i have MORE problems at the new host... grrrrrr

and

my browser wants to go back to the other host... and guess what..?
it did!!!

i am telling the truth..

i went back to that first web host and re started my web sites. i had them
for over 8 yrs and all my clients know that address,, so i lost out a lot by
switching

now i am in the process of going back.

but i just wanted to tell everyone all my problems

DOES MY WEB SITE WORK?

that is the question of all questions and the answer is.... all my 20 web
sites are NOT WORKING !!!!!!!!!!!!
