Publishing a Large Web to an FTP Host

I'm having a problem publishing a rather large web to an
FTP-only site. The publisher runs just fine for a while
until, while it's collecting up the list of files on the
host, I get a message that there is no web at the host
URL. Evidently the host is timing out the connection, but
I can't really tell what's happening.

Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else?

You may need to use a 3rd Party FTP application.

You could try using CuteFTP or FTP Voyager, both downloadable.
