publisher installer

Everytime I start word or excel, Windows launches an
installer for publisher. The files can't be found, it
prompts for a CD, and I wind up spending time canceling
the install several times. Has anyone had this problem?

Yes. I had to download the Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp
utility. When you run it look for Publisher in the list, click on
it and then uninstall it from that utility. Then reinstall
Publisher as normal back into the same directory it was in.
