My public folders icon has disappeared and I am unable to get it back, even
if I remove the OST and recreate it. My laptop however works fine with public
folders?
How can I get the link back (have tried go to folder and can select any
public folder but does not show content).Any ideas?

Public Folders are only visible in the Folder List Navigation and not in the
Mail Navigation.

I understand that but my public folders disappeared from my folder list
navigation tree. I can move emails to various public folders I have by using
the Move To tab which opens a pop up window allowing me to see the public
folders as normal but I am unable to see Public Folders in the left pane,
only Mailbox, Archive Folders and Sharepoint Lists. No matter if I click my
Folder List tab either, it still does not bring the Public Folders tree in
the left pane? I am using Outlook2007 Office Enterprise and SBS2003 Premium?

It could mean that your mail profile is corrupted and needs to be recreated.

I did that too but to no avail. Opened a few times on laptop then on desktop
with both open together, played with folder list tab to open blank public
folder field and voila for some reason it popped back again. I noticed when
it went missing even my personal contacts disappeared from my mailbox tree as
well? Strange, has also happened on my partners laptop but have not managed
to get that one back yet. We can even remote access and get public folders no
problem but local ost seems to "lose and find" the Public Folders for some
reason? Thanks for assistance, great handy site you have too!

If you lose the public folders try the go menu and then choose folder and select the public folders from there. This is only a workaround though because the folders will disappear as soon as you move to another ara of the program such as the calendar.

I cant believe I have been so dumb and it took my young techie to show me the
light! I was viewing my mailbox from the standard mailbox tree which did not
show the Public Folders and when opening the Folder List Tab I only could see
Folder Sizes and Data File Management! '
What I did not do was to click the dbl blue arrow to the right of All
Folders (above Folder Sizes etc) which then expanded the complete tree
including my beloved Public Folders.........ah we all have our moments I
guess, couldn't see the wood for the trees!!!!!
