public folder owner only has "reviewer" permissions?

RAM

As the email admin for my company, I set myself up as OWNER on
multiple public folders on our Exchange 2003+SP2 system. Today I
noticed that on several of these public folders, my Outlook 2007+SP1
client only shows me as having Reviewer permissions, and I get an
error when I try to create new entries in them ("you don't have
permission to create an entry in this folder...").

I'v verified in ESM that my account is indeed set as an OWNER on these
folders. Also, if I go into these same public folders using OWA, I CAN
create entries with no problem.

So the problem must lie with Outlook. I've turned off cached exchange
mode - still couldn't create an entry in these Public Folders. Deleted
and let Outlook re-create the OST file - still couldn't create an
entry. I've deleted the Outlook.sharing.xml.obi &
~last~.sharing.xml.obi files, thinking they were holding some setting
that would affect this. No good.

I even reset my Owner status on one of these public folders in ESM. No
good, even if I waited more than 15 minutes.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue? And maybe point me in the
direction of a fix?

TIA.

You would probably do better to ask this in the Exchange publics.

However, just a few things to check for:

- Public folders will use the info from the machine you are logged into.
Are you logged into the machine with the same entity as the account
that is the owner?

example: My Active directory account called AdminNikki is owner
of all my public folders. But if I log into my machine as
NikkiTest, then open Outlook using my AdminNikki, I will
see only the permissions that NikkiTest have, even though
I am logging into my Outlook profile as AdminNikki.

If I log into the machine using my AdminNikki, then open
my AdminNikki exchange mail, then I will see all of my
Public Folders and I will be owner.

Nikki - thanks for the response.

I am logged into my local machine as the same account that is an OWNER
on the public folder, and I'm also using an Outlook profile for that
same account.

I disabled my RPC over HTTP, on the (very) off-chance that might have
something to do with it. No change.

I also removed & and re-added my account to the Client Permissions on
the public folder in the ESM; still get the "you do not have have
permission" dialog when I try to create an entry on the public folder.

Look for the tool called PFDavAdmin.exe. Use this to check your
ACL/ACE/DACL's on the public folders. I use this tool frequently
to troubleshoot permission problems in Public Folders.

Thanks, Nikki - I will check it out today.

Oddly, of the 12 folders I noticed this with, today 10 of them are
back to normal and show me as Owner thru OL. Only 2 are still giving
me "you do not have permission." Weird.
