Public folder error message in Word.

Hello

I have a customer who is experincing a problem with using an exchange
public folder listing a series of contacts. No matter what user is
logged into the client machine, they get the following error message
when trying to insert the addresss into the envelope and label wizard
in Word 2002.

"Unable to display the contents of this address book. The Contacts
folder associated with this address book could not be opened; it may
have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permission. For
information on how to remove this folder from the Outlook Address
Book, see Microsoft Outlook help."

I have updated Office 2002 and the Outlook 2003 clients to the latest
patches and still the problem persists. Different computers within
the LAN work fine, including when you login as the users having
problem on this specific machine.

Any suggestions you could give me would be gratefully received.

Lewis

I can't say I know what I'm doing in this area, but something that appeared
to sort a similar problem out for me was to
a. right click on the Public Folder, select Properties, and verify that the
folder is included in the Outlook Address Book
b. go into Outlook->Tools->Address Book->Tools->Options
c. Select a different book in "Show this address book first", Apply
d. close Outlook, Word, whatever
e. open Word again, see if the folder has re-appeared. If so, we''re
probably done, so go back and change that setting to what it should be. If
not, I have no idea what other simple thing you might try.
