We are using Exchange 2000 and Outlook 2002. Our users
are using Exchange email accounts - not POP3. They are
also using Public Calendars to schedule meetings within
departments.

If a users hard drive crashes, will their calendar
information be lost? If it is not lost then the calendar
information must be stored on the Exchange server?? Can
you please tell me where this information is being
stored? Thanks in advance. Any help is greatly
appreciated!!

Hugh

If the users are using the Public folders, they reside on the Exchange
server. Any loss to the users data will not affect the public store.

Ask your Exchange admin for additional information. Also, ensure that the
exchange store is backed up on a regular (daily) basis. This will protect
against loss of all data.

If the users have "Exchange Server" configured in their profile, then the
calendar is stored on the server and will not be lost through a client hard
drive crash. You can verify the server side storage by logging on to the
mailbox with OWA and viewing the calendar folder.
