PST shows no emails

Have a user on EX2003 had Outlook 2000 with a 775mb archive PST. Yesterday
the archive file looks as though there is only 1 folder and size reported is
32kb. On the home server where the actual PST resides, the file size is
775mb. I tried updating to Outlook 2003 and the same thing. The archive had
20-30 folders, but none show up when I open the file. Tried closing the
archive and reopening...same. I ran an archive cycle and many emails
transfered to the archive, but do not show in the opened archive PST. Any
ideas? I will try to open the PST on another machine to see if it is a
profile problem.

It's not recommended or supported by Microsoft that an in-use PST reside on a
networked drive. It's required that the PST reside on the local machine since
Outlook needs read/write access to the file. If there is any interruption in
network traffic, the file can corrupt.

Move the PST to the local machine, run scanpst.exe against it to check for
errors while Outlook is closed. Then open Outlook to see if this has resolved
the issue. If it hasn't, in the properties of the Outlook profile, remove the
current PST and add the repaired one that has been moved back to the user's
PC/laptop.
