PST Problem

I have an old pst that I had from my old work place I saved it in the year
1999 but now I have to look into it but i tried to open it with my outlook
but it say access denied now I tried to download a outlook password recovery
tool to see what the password was but the programs I have downloaded does not
work I also don’t know if is was on a active directory with exchange server
so I don’t know if the password is saved on the exchange server and not on
the pst I need to get files out of that pst

Can anybody please help or give some advice

Copy it to your harddisk and make sure the "Read Only" property isn't
checked. Then connect to it through File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...
