PST FOR BOTH XP & 2003

I cannot get Outlook XP (2002) to open my PST file that I use on Outlook
2003. Can this file not be read by both versions ?
 
Outlook 2003 has a new PST format that can't be read by earlier versions.
However you can create a compatible PST by select File | New | Outlook Data
File | Outlook 97/2002 Personal Folders.
