.pst file size

apparently there is a max .pst size for using microsoft active synch with an
AT&T 8525 PDA phone.

mine (OL 2003) was 7.7 gigs and gave me an error that it was not closed
properly

i archive all my mail folders and compressed it is down to 2.8 gigs now

i guess my questiion is: what data is store there -- only mail data - - if
so where is calendar and contact data stored?

I'm not aware of any.

If Outlook can open it, then ActiveSync should be able to handle it. What
version of ActiveSync? Did you ask in the ActiveSync newsgroup?

Stored where, in the archive? Whatever you configured Autoarchive to save
is what it will contain. Contacts can't be archived.
