PST file issue Help Plz

I made a ghost image of my HDD and then installed a new drive and reimaged
it. Everthing works fine but Outlook 2003 wont open the pst file. (YES I
removed the read only attribute.) I tried to run scanpst.exe and it tells me
that this is not a pst file. How can i recover this pst file. I had this
issue before when i burned a pst file to a cd and then tried to reuse it on
a different computer. I just thought it didnt burn properly. But after
researching this i see that other people have had similiar problems. Is
there a way to fix a pst after it had been burned to a cd?

Your "ghost" isn't as faithful a copy as you would like. If you still have
the origial disk, mount it as a slave in your PC and locate the original
PST. Copy that PST to the new HD (making sure not to overwrite any PST of
the same name) and start Outlook. Click File>Open>Outlook Data File, browse
to the PST, select it, and click OK.

I did that already but i just want to know how to recover a pst file if it
came from a cd. I want to know if there is a know issue or any documention
stating not to burn pst files to a cd.

there isn't any documentation saying not to burn to a cd, but from what we
see here (and in my own experience) it seems like 1 in 10 psts get corrupted
darning the burn. I always test it before blowing away an installation.
