PS/2 KEYBOARD NOT WORKING.

I'VE JUST INSTALLED A MOTHERBOARD AND NEW HARD DRIVE. 'WAS ABLE TO INSTALL WIN XP HOME AND UPDATE IT FULLY. MY ONLY PROBLEM NOW IS THAT I CAN'T GET MY PS/2 KEYBOARD TO WORK. 'HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE PS/2 MOUSE BUT WAS ABLE TO USE A SERIAL MOUSE. I'VE NOW TRIED A SECOND PS/2 KEYBOARD WITH THE SAME RESULT. I'VE EVEN TRIED TO INSTALL THE PS/2 KB INTO A SERIAL PORT WITH THE APPROPRIATE ADAPTER AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK.
THE "ADD HARDWARE WIZARD" DOES NOT FIND THE KB AND DOES NOT EVEN LIST A KEYBOARD AS AN OPTION FOR MANUAL INSTALLATION.
I BORROWED A USB KEYBOARD AND THAT WORKS.
I DON'T SEE ANYTHING IN THE MB BIOS THAT WOULD DISABLE THE PS/2 CONNECTORS.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO INSTALL MY KEYBOARD?
PLEASE HELP.

Greetings --

First of all, please unstick your CapsLock key. Posting in all
caps, as you have done, is the Usenet equivalent of shouting, and is
considered very rude. More importantly, posting in all caps makes the
post very hard to read, further reducing your chances of getting help.

Then, take the motherboard back to the store and exchange it for
one that has working PS/2 ports.

I'm truly sorry if I've offended anyone by using capital letters. Please advise where I can find posting instructions that provide proper forum etiquette regarding capitalization. I must have missed that part but am always eager to learn. The reason I used capitals in the first place was to get a little more attention since I've been posting the same question in various forums without getting any answers

The motherboard is not new and worked fine in it's previous installation. If it's the PS/2 ports, then why would the KB's not work in the serial port with the PS/2 to serial adapter

Have you confirmed the keyboard works by using it in another computer?
Have you tried another keyboard which works in another machine in your
machine to confirm the port and other things are working?

Keyboards are not lifetime purchases. They die. May be time for a new one.

Very few keyboards are designed to work via a serial port. Is
yours?
