Proxy server setting

When I try to log on to my dial up ISP (Earthlink.net) Internet Explorer
6 can't find the ISP home page. I have to manually turn off the proxy
server
buttons under Internet Tools every time I try to access Earthlink. I'm
running
XP Home Edition.

Help, please!
