I understand that networking won't work if there aren't common protocols
installed. However, I've not seen a definitive discussion of what happens
if common protocols *are* installed and, also, uncommon protocols are
installed (i.e. on some machines and not on others).
If there are two networked computers with TCP/IP installed - and assuming
that networking is working in all expected ways - then what happens if
NetBEUI is installed on one of them? Will some networking aspects
necessarily disappear? It seems I've seen this happen. Is there a priority
order in which protocols are engaged to explain this?
