Protocol Error while attempting to use RD

C

Chuckie

I have a RD host behind the Linksys BESFR41 router. If I connect through RD
client from within the same LAN using WAN IP or domain name, it'd work fine.
But from outside of LAN (remotely), I keep getting this error message
"Because of a protocol error detected at the client, this session will be
disconnected". I searched everywhere but couldn't find any resource to
decrypt this message.

BTW, I'd appreciate any links or resources to guide step-by-step through
setting up RD behind the Linky. I think port forwarding is set properly.
'Telnet dn_name/ip_number 3389' shows that it can reach the router.

TIA

This error typically occurs when the data stream is corrupted.. This
is a known issue with the certain firmware revisions of the Linksys
router. Take a look at the Linksys forum at http://www.dslreports.com
for information on the "good" firmware releases and for links on where
to download them...
