I am using Excel 2002
OS Windows 2002 XP SP2
I have a problem protecting objects, Text boxes, lines, arrows, shapes
etc… in my Worksheets.
When I was using Excel 2000 with Windows98 SP all I had to do was go
to Tools/Protection and just tick the ‘objects’ option.
Using XP I tried going to Tools/Protection which brought the ‘Protect
sheet box’.
I don’t want to use a password.
In the ‘Allow all users of the worksheet to:’ box the only two
options I have selected are ‘ Select locked cells’ and ‘ Select
unlocked cells’
I have tried selecting and unselecting various combinations but I just
can’t protect the object and still be able to edit the contents of
the cells without un-protecting the sheet.
To put it in a nut shell I want, other users and myself, to be able
to edit the cells without altering any of the objects[/i]

When MS enhanced protection, they moved the checkboxes for the scenarios and
objects into that list of what to allow users to do.

Scroll down to the bottom of that listbox and you'll see those two options.

Ah, but you said that the only things you had checked were the top two.

Just a guess, but try scrolling down to see if you have "Edit objects" checked.
(Maybe just an oversight???)
