Properties display slow to appear on files or folders

When I right click on a folder or file from Windows XP
professional SP2 and select properties it can take around
30 seconds for the properties screen to appear. The
computer does not crash, but I cannot think on what could
be causing this.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing
this? SP1 appeared to have the same problem.

yes, it may be related to the Security Shell Extension.

Hopefully someone has heard of this.
