Are you running Office XP?

The first thing to try is reinstalling your printer.
The next thing is to insert the Office CD and select Repair from the menu.
(If no menu pops up, run setup manually from the CD.)
If neither of these work, the next step is very involved.

I have done what you said but still keep getting this error message. Please
help!

Next is the nuclear option:

1 Uninstall Office XP from Control Panel-->Add or remove Programs
2 Click Start, right-click My Computer, select Explore.
3 Expand the C: drive; expand Program Files.
4 If there is a folder named Microsoft Office, delete it.

The next steps involve editing the registry. If you are not 100%
comfortable working with the registry: DON'T. Try reinstalling Office and
see if the problem is fixed. Otherwise:

5 Click Start, click Run and type in regedit.
6 On the registry window: click File, select Export... and save the current
settings in a file named something like regback030106.
7 Back in the registry window, expand these folders: HKEY_CURRENT_USER,
Software, Microsoft.
8 Right click the Office folder and select delete.
9 Click the box next to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder to collapse it.
10 Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Microsoft, and delete the office
folder as you did previously.
11 Restart the PC
12 Reinstall Office

If you need to restore thr original registry:
1 Go back into the registry, click File, select Import .
2 Select you backup file and click the Open button.

Thanks paulibus, I re-formatted my hard disk and re-installed XP just after
christmas. Word was working fine until Tuesday 28.02, I was working on it
most of the day, then when I went to print some of the letters I had done
during the day it came up with the error. Do I really need to re-install XP
again?

There is 1 other thing to try first. Open 1 of your documents with Wordpad
and try to print it. If you don't get the same message, then you will be
certain that Office is the culprit.

You want to reinstall Office, not the XP operating system. None of the easy
solutions seem to work, and I've seen no other viable suggestions made
lately. But the choice is yours.

Good luck,
Paul

To use Wordpad:
Right-click your document
Select Open With...
Click on Wordpad if it is listed
If not, select Choose Program...
Select Wordpad if it is available; do not check the "Always use..." box
If not listed, click the Browse button
Navigate to C:\Windows\System32
Click on Write.exe
Click the Open button
Click OK

Before you nuke office, there is something you can do to make the restoration
easirer:

1 Click on Start
2 Click on Run
3 Type Regedit and press enter
4 Click on Help and then on Help Topics
5 Click the index tab
6 In the box type: exporting registry keys
7 Click the Display button at the bottom
8 Read Carefully!
9 To print click Options at the top and click Print...
10 The key you want to save is HKEY_CURRENT_USER

After you reinstall Office, go back to into the registry and follow the
instructions above. But this time type in: importing registry keys. This
should restore your Office settings.

Do this in addition to backing up the entire registry.

After you sucessfully accomplish this, update you resume and apply for a
6-figure job with Microsoft.
