Prompt for e-mail account to send from

Diana

I have a home computer from which I send personal e-mails
and business e-mails. I would like Outlook to ask me
which e-mail account to send my e-mails from. Is there a
way to do this? I know I can tell Outlook before I hit
send, but I have missed this more than once and sent
business e-mails from my personal e-mail account. Then
the replies don't get automatically sorted into the
correct e-mail folder.

Hello, I had basically the same question you have. Fortunately, I found the following posting and it has worked remarkably well for me. You can set up a profile for personal email and another for business email. You will have to check each account separately, but I have not been embarrased by sending email from the wrong account since I started using this method. Here is the posting

Set up separate mail profiles for each user. Close Outlook, then go t
Control Panel and double-click the Mail icon. There you can set up on
profile for each of the three users. Give each user its own Outloo
profile and attach each e-mail account only to its ow
profile. Finally, tell Outlook to prompt for a profile each time it starts
(You must close Outlook and restart it to switch between profiles.
