Promoting a server and it's users to a new domain in existing AD?

W2k Server.

I have a server in a existing AD with about 75 LOCAL user accounts to
gain access to services only on this server. These users NOW need to
be in a new AD domain thanks to some other siftware we are running
that has to be spread over multiple servers.

Can I just do a DC Promo on this server with the users and create a
new AD domain inside the existing forest and have them become the
members for this domain?

jup. Upgrading server will convert local accounts to domain accounts.
