Projector screen viewing

Here we go again it's my Quiz.

I have set my questions using Calibri pt 18. All is well until the moment I
find the text is too long for the "fixed table in the box spaces for
questions and answers". I vaguely remember reading on this group that this
font or Arial font was the font to use for projected images to be able to
read comfortably from a projected screen. I think the pt size mentioned was
even larger than the one I am using.I am prepared to all all if necessary.

..ppt 2007
My small audience will be approx between 5 yards - 15 yards away. If I
reduce the font size yet again from pt 18 to accommodate the text required
on my slides, will my small audience be able to "read" smaller font from a
screen? I anticipate the screen will be an average wall viewing size! ! I
have no way of knowing this info until I purchase the hardware, yet I will
need to be armed with good presentations in readiness to apply for a grant.
I may need to be able to "show" a selection of my presentations at the
initial interview. The application for a grant is many, many weeks away yet.
Nevertheless I am trying to compile small animated cartoon film shows and
many quizzes to be prepared. I am valuing all the help that I receive from
this group. Unfortunately I didn't keep the font tips in my folder :-(

Thank you

Maureen, as a rule-of-the-thumb try standing around 3 feet away from a 17
inch monitor when the presentation plays full screen -- if you can read the
text, the size should be fine. That would roughly translate to 2 and a half
feet from a 15 inch monitor, and three and a half feet from a 19 inch
monitor.

Again, it's best to use at least 20 points, although in certain situations
even something as low as 14 points can be acceptable.

Again, these are just guidelines -- you have to see what works best in your
situation. And when in doubt, always remember that larger size text is
better than smaller.

Thank you Geetesh,

I will give it a try with different people viewing from my lap top at
various distances. I have printed "the rule of thumb" distance and will
carry it with me in my lap top case. If the text turns out to be too small
to read from these various distances I realise that the larger text would
then be so much better. I may even make the Title Holder narrower and the
Table grids/boxes whatever they are called bigger. I will then have to alter
the covered rectangles to go over these boxes. However it will keep me out
of mischief :)

Thany you again
