Font sizes change from the slide master fomatting

I set up my slide master with the Title text at 36 pt, Text box 1st 30 pt,
and 2nd-4th 24 pt. When I close the master and insert slides the default
slide layout works fine for as many slides as I need in that format.

When I select other slide layouts my font sizes change. The Title text is
okay at 36 pt, but the 1st text box level is 26 and the 2nd-4th are 20 pt.
How to I fix this so that any slide layout used will pick up the slide master
fonts?

Thanks

Click Tools > AutoCorrect Options.
Select the "AutoFormat As you Type" tab.
Under Apply as you type, uncheck autofit body text to placeholder.
Click ok.
Now, select all the slides, click Format > Slide Layout.
Hover over the layout you want, click on the arrow and select ReApply layout.
See if it works this time round.

This is by design. The layout that has two columns of text, for example,
works this way -- the font size is a bit smaller in the two columns than it
is on the layout that uses just the one bulleted text placeholder.

I would create another slide master with a bit larger font and apply it to
slides that use layouts where a smaller font occurs.

Thanks for the anwer. At least I understand why and now can work with it.
I'll try the new slide master.
