Programs Not Responding

I recently bought a new computer from a well known company and it came with
Microsoft works suite 2005 and other programs. well, whenever i go onto word
and im typing after about 3 minutes it stops and says that it is not
responding. The same thing happens to Photoshop Elements when i try to open
up digital camera pictures. Practically all of my programs do not respond
after a couple of minutes of using them or right from the start. Please
somebody help me this is getting very frustrating!!!
 
Is it not the companies responsibility that the system works as advertised??
I suggest you take it back and have those problems fixed......under warranty
Any reputable well known company would definitly do that
