Programs Menu Startup shortcuts

Hi,
I am having an interesting problem on my Windows 2000 computers. We have
just switched to Server 2003 and are running Windows 2000 SP 4 on the
workstations. I have added several programs I would like run at startup into
the c:\my documents and settings\all Users\Start Menu\programs\startup.

These programs are duplicating. When I start and logon to the domain it
shows to instances of the program running in the task manager. I have
searched for another instance of the shortcut but there is none.

I have looked at my startup using a utility called Autoruns and it shows
duplicate entries in the startup folder for my domaing profile. It only shows
one set of shortcuts when I view the local machine profile.

I haven't had any luck searching for this problem online and I am hoping
that someone has a quick fix.

Run regedt32.exe and check the Reg_Expand_Sz values of;

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
"Startup"
should be;
%USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
"Common Startup"
should be;
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
(note: the type must be Reg_Expand_Sz)
