Programs getting killed

Hi

There are some programs which were working fine but started getting crashed
as soon as i start them. For one of them i used system restore and it is
working fine since then.
Is there some place where Xp maintains a list of the programs to kill or
something.
I have tried reinstalling and removing regs of the program

Can some one tell whats happening
