Programs cannot find MS???80.DLL files but they are on my hard dis

Hi,
I have some problems with My WIndows XP Pro I installed a few days ago.
It has all updates from the Microsoft update center etc.

1. When I check my event viewer under Administive Tools or run a Registry
Checker Program
I see many errors about missing MSVCR80.DLL and many more MS*80.DLL files.
I also see where programs have tried to acces these files and cannor find
them in the Event Viewer.
I did a search of my Hard Disk and they all (MS***80.DLL) show up on my hard
disk.
Can you experts help me with this.

All the updates?
Is this critical updates only?
Did you update drivers there?
Have you checked the update history for failed updates?
Have you windows defender or Norton installed?
