Knack
Before I do a backup to tape, I like to run a batch file that does either a
net stop or a kill on a slew of running executables. Note that most of the
programs that I don't want running during tape backup are those that
automatically start when the OS boots.
Shortly later and before I do the tape backup, something triggers most of
these programs to restart again. This occurs spontaneously. Very
aggravating. Don't have a clue as to how I can keep these executables from
restarting after I've shut them down.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
