All of my software were working fine on my computer until last week. My
windows media player, real player, and some other stuffs crashed for no
reason, with the following error message occured:

"a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available"

I have a feeling it is due to some patch updates that I did last week?

Please help me if you have a solution to it! Thanks!

MS updates normally creates a restore point before installing, use system
restore to restore to the point prior to updates. See if that fixes problem.
Then reinstall those that do not interfere.
Also I would set MS updates to download updates but allow you to install,
then you will be able have control what updates are installed and be more
aware if they cause a problem.
I realize that this may be inconvienient but unfortunately some updates are
causing problem for some but not others.
