program won't launch

After what appears to be a successful installation of MS
Spyware, double clicking on the program icon does nothing
(i.e. the program won't launch), yet the tray icon says
it's active.

When I right click on the tray icon and select scan,
nothing happens.

I'm running Windows XP Home, service pack 1.

Are you getting Error 101?

Locate gcasDtServ.exe and double click. Add a shortcut gcasDtServ.exe to
your Desktop. Oddly when you double click the shortcut it doesn't start
MSAS but places an icon in the Notification Area of the Taskbar. Double
click on that and MSAS starts.

Others have overcome Start problems in different ways but what I have
described works for me.
