I've installed a typing tutor program, but it's unuseable by other users of
the pc. It doesn't appear on their start menu and attempts to run from
exploere give a general protection fail. Run as ... doesn't work.

It's possible that you inadvertantly selected the program to be installed
only for you, or didn't notice that there was such a selection available. Try
uninstalling the program by going to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove
Programs. Find the program in the list and select uninstall. Then reinstall
the program and look for something that says "Install this program for me
only" (or something like that), then select "Install for all users."

Hope everything works out for you.
