Program reinstall or change

I got a new Western Digital 120GB hard drive and followed
their instructins to copy the old hard drive files into
the new drive. Things are working well except Microsoft
Office including Excel. It won't run the program unless
the CD is in the drive, won't let me modify or reinstall
the program to fix the problem, and won't allow updates
from Microsoft. Once it sees the CD then all seems to go
well. What can I do?

This is a guess as I have not had to deal with a situation
like yours directly.

Your problem may have something to do with software
registration which may now be confused as a result of the
hardware change.

Have you tried rerunning the registration procedure?
