Program (notepad) not opening when clicked

Well, this wouldnt be such a big problem for me to post if
I didnt NEED this program... but I do. I use MSNotepad to
code my html; basic, yes, but many do it. It's time-saving
and convienent. My problem is that when i go to double-
click it, it doesnt open. Also, when I right-click it to
try and open it, it doesnt work. I try locating the
original file, but to no avail. Can someone please help me
figure out what the problem is, because I also have
important notes in my notepad documents (opening them in
word is annoying). Thank you very much

What exactly are you clicking? The actual notepad.exe file in %windir%? A
shortcut? What happens when you enter "notepad" (sans quotes) in the RUN
dialog?

www.textpad.com is my preferred HTML editor, btw. I strongly recommend it!

I go start>programs>accessories>notepad or i open up the
document from its saved location. Ive not tried running it
through command prompt yet, bur i shall do so now, and im
going to check out that site. Thanks.

*side thought* what if it doesnt work?
