program not compatable with winxp

I have an accounting program that is not compatable with xp due to a
security key not found error. If I go back to winme it will work fine like
it was but I deleated my win backup files and I cant uninstall win xp so
what can I do? Thanks Peter P.S. I would like to use winxp but I dont
really have to. They can provide a file but its expensive.
