"Program must close to allow a previous installation......"

When I try to click on a link at a website or in my e-mail, I get a window
that pops up that says, "Program must close to allow a previous installation
attempt to complete. Please restart." How can I keep this from happening?

I'm in Linux and not in Windows, but I think I know what your problem is.
Since it's an installation which you most likely did not start by yourself,
the culprit must be Windows Automatic Updates (I turned it off, its so
annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Automatic
Updates (if you have XP it is under "Security Center" (Service Pack 2) or
"Classic View"(SP1)). Then, uncheck the "Enable Updates" box (I think it says
something a little diff, but you'll find it). Click Apply, OK. Then restart.
If you still have problems clicking on a live link, post it here and I'll try
to help you out more.
