I've been having this problem for a long while, and I WANT IT TO STOP!
Using a memory heavy program (like Games or MP3 Players) Cause a annoying program lag. When I load the program, it's fine - it runs smoothly. After 30 secs-1 minute, the program slows down and gets skippy. A few seconds later, my computer practially locks up and heads to 99% usuage- I can hardly even move the mouse! After about 30 seconds of this, the program runs smooth. But then it loops.
I've tried:
Cleaning temp files
Updating Drivers
Removing Spyware/Scanning for Viruses
Changing Video Modes
Defragmenting HD
Resetting Windows (I am getting desperate)
(DON'T TELL ME TO DO ANY OF THESE)
This started around April. Here are my specs:
Compaq 5321 SR
WINDOWS XP HOME (It came with it)
IP4 1.5GHZ
60GB HD
384MB SDRAM (It came with it)
64 MB Nvida Geforce4 (I installed it before chirtsmas)
I'm thinking it's my hardware - and I don't think it's my video card. The only time I remember opening this was when I was going to buy RAM for it - figuring out the RAM PC# it supported was in the low 100s so I couldn't upgrade it. After that I cleaned the computer out of dust with compressed air.
Could someone help me here? I'm getting very desperate....
