Program hangs

Whether in Word, Power Point, Excel, when I click on file, and open and the
down arrow next to the "Look In" Menu Bar, the program hangs and I have to
restart. Offiice 2003 has been reloaded, and it still does it.

Have you got sp2 installed. If not go to help > check for updates.

Yes, it has been loaded. Powerpoint has also been reloaded, as well as Word,
and all the other Office programs. My help desk wants to wipe the drive and
start over again, but I don't want to go through unnecessary pain.
