Program Files Folder Network Access

How do you access the "Program Files" folder over a
network? The network is set-up as a workgroup and I can
access all other folders except it. I have simple file
sharing turned off. I have set all the permissions
identical to other folders I can access. The
only thing I can see different is that the "Program Files"
folder does not inherit any permissions. Is there a
security policy of some type?

Thanks,

Warren

My first question is, what's your goal? You can't just try to execute
programs from another computer's program files directory and expect them to
work on your computer....

I am not trying to execute programs. I am actually
developing an application on one machine and copying them
over to another machine's Program Files folder. I just
want the answer not someone questioning me as to why I
want to do it.

OK - well, don't be testy. It was a perfectly logical question as you didn't
explain what you wanted to do, and I didn't want to steer you down the wrong
road. You take what you get in newsgroup posts and are always free to ignore
what you wish.
There shouldn't be any default decurity policy that overrides what NTFS
permissions are set. If you connect to the local admin share (\\machine\c$)
can you then browse/do what you want in there?

Sorry about that, I was having a bad day. Thank you for
the info, I did not think of that.
