Program failed to load after "expiration"

VanVersion

Today MS AntiSpyware stopped working. After uninstalling,
downloading new version, the error message remains the
same:

"The Microsoft Internal Beta version of Microsoft
AntiSpyware has expired as of 31.7.2005.. Please contack
Microsoft for an updated version."

Help?

I don't know for certain that this can be fixed.

What is your Locale set to?

What I know is worth trying:

Reset the short and long date formats for your locale to the very first
choice in the drop-down control, which I believe is the default for the
locale.

(and, of course, make sure that the date and time settings are correct.)

Yes. All the values were insane; I returned them to
the ... default, and had to reboot. Works.

Great--you are the second person this has happened to---the beta expiring in
the middle of the stated time period.

For a number of others with non-standard settings, the beta expired before
they could start it the first time.

I agree with Andre's assessment--but if you mess with the long and short
date formats, I'm quite certain that odd things will happen.
