Program error when installing scanner software

I have a new HP4670 scanner. I tried to install it into my Win2000 machine, and every single time the installation starts, I get a "program error" message, and the installation closes down. I installed it into my Win98 machine with no problem, but the 2000 is the one I use most. How do I get around this problem? It's really frustrating me. Thanks.
 
You must use drivers that are Windows 2000 compatible. Just because something works in Windows 98 does NOT mean it will work in Windows 2000. I suspect the SCSI interface here.
