Program Does Not Install

I am using XP Pro SP3. I have Zone Labs, Avira AV, Spyware Blaster, and
Malwarebytes installed and running on my system.
My problem is I am trying to install TomTom Home to use with my GPS. For
the purpose of the installation, I have disabled the aforementioned
programs. I do not have the CD but I have downloaded the program from the
TomTom Home site. When I double click the program icon, I get the run
dialog box but when I click on the run option, nothing happens. I have
rebooted and tried the same process again to no avail. I have other
programs in my downloads file and when I click on those run options, it
initiates the setup. Just can not get the TomTom Home program to run and
setup. Hope someone will have an idea of what I need to do to resolve this.
Thanks in advance...Ron

Here are a couple of options:
- Try installing the program in Safe Mode.
- Check the TomTom home page for hints.

Zone Labs; the firewall?
Running multiple AV, malaware apps can cause conflicts, particularly if they
are running tasks

Thanks Pegasus and DL for your responses.
DL.. Sorry for the confusion of Zone Labs, I am using the Firewall. Prior
to attempting the install, I turned off the firewall and disabled the other
security programs.
Can anyone clarify if I am defeating the purpose by using both Malware Bytes
and Spyware Blaster at the same time to detect malware and adware? They
were diabled when I attempted the install.

Pegasus...I tried to do the install in safe mode. The same as before, when
I clicked on "run", nothing happened, as before. I will check TT Home for
hints and maybe even the TT User group. I posed my problem first to the XP
group because I felt that it was an install problem and not a specific
TomTom issue. I'll post any results to the group.

You may want to try downloading the program once again, if possible, from a different
"mirror" or download site...

Some AV/spyware program combinations can take some time to check a
downloaded exe file - like in my case with Kaspersky &
Superantispyware Pro, it can take a minute or more before anything
happens after double clicking on the file - are you giving it enough
time?

I've found following suggestions:

Install older version of TomTom Home 2.2
http://tinyurl.com/l5zla8
and it will update itself quickly to the newest one. It worked for me.
Versions 2.5 and later do have this pesky problem of not running on some
computers.
Another suggested possibility is to install Microsoft .NET Framework,
but I didn't test this solution.

Thanks you very much for suggesting that I install the older version. It
installed without a glitch and updated quickly, now to version 2.7. Again,
thanks for you help. Ron
