Program does not always respond

I am running access 2000 - on windows XP on an office LAN system. There are
time when I open the database to my main menu and find that none of the menu
buttons I created respond when I click on them. If I close the program and
restart it then they work. I never have this problem when I run it on my home
computer. I ran the database compact and repair several times but the problem
still pops-up now and then. Any ideas what would cause this.

I had a similar problem, when I moved my MDB from Access97 to Access2003,
sometimes in specific forms, in the end I found out that the

Docmd.Echo false

Caused it, don't know why, but when I removed it, all the problem finished
