program cancels off when i press enter or space bar

when working on word to compile a page of printing,when i press space or
enter,the program turns itself off and i lose any work and have to start anew
 
Does the problem persist if you select a different default
printer in Start | Control Panel | Printers? If this fixes the
problem, then try deleting and reinstalling your normal printer
in Start | Control Panel | Printers. While you're at it, you
might check the printer manufacturer's website to see if there is
an updated printer driver available for your printer.
