Hi All,
we have a customer with a small network based on SBS2K3 and Windows XP
desktops. Its only about 5 workstations and 1 server to it, so its nothing
fantastic. There are no fancy policies applied to any users or anything like
that, just an out of the box setup for basic domain file sharing and
networking abilities.

For whatever reason, one PC, when shutting down, comes up with a few error
messages along the lines of:

Warnings occurred while windows was synchronizing your data Failed
Results:- offline files\server\user$onserver

then 15 items come up example:

calendar.dbx message outlook express files of this type cannot be made
available offline

Having files available offline is not required for this scenario.

If anyone knows how to stop this from occurring I would appreciate your help.

Regards,
Luke

Hi Luke,
I've had similar problems with offline files being enabled
without needing them. I found the easiest way was to disable offline
files through the domain group policy. However since its only one
machine thats got the problem I'd say its probably best to disable
offline files through the local group policy:

1. Start > Run > 'mmc'
2. File > Add/Remove Snap-in > Add > Group Policy > OK.
3. In the GP window; Comp Config > Admin Template > Network > Offline
Files.
Disable 'Allow or Disable use of offline files feature'

You may also want to disable 'Do not auto make redirected folders...'
in User Config > Admin Temp > Network > Offline Files.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Luke
