Profile prompt window not showing up

I've been using multiple profiles on my computer for years. About 2 weeks
ago, Outlook started only opening one of the profiles without a
"choose/prompt for profile" window, and it is still doing this. I've tried
resetting the prompt and rebooting, and nothing works. Outlook always opens
immediately in the one profile. How do I get the "choose/prompt" window back?

Without knowing what version of Outlook you are using, I will include
the info based on Outlook 2007:

- Open your profile
- Select TOOLS
- Select ACCOUNT SETTINGS...
- Select CHANGE... from the E-mail tab
- Click the MORE SETTINGS... button
- Select the SECURITY tab
- Activate the check mark for "Always prompt for logon credentials"

I'm having the same problem with Outlook 2007. It started back in about
November. When I reboot the computer, I get the prompt *once*, then
whichever profile we open, that's the one that *always* opens without the
prompt after that. I have the "prompt for profile" option checked, and it
never "un-checks" itself.

When I tried the fix suggested by Nikki below, I couldn't find any option
for "Always prompt for login credentials" -- in fact, there was no "Security"
tab in Tools->Account Settings->Change->More Settings.

We have two profiles set up, each configured as IMAP for Gmail.

Thanks,
Brian

I had the same problem (see reply to Nikki's response to shademanbt's post)
-- Nothing worked until I found out that the OUTLOOK.exe process was not
going away after closing Outlook. To fix this in Vista or XP, after closing
Outlook, use Ctrl-Alt-Del, then select "Start Task Manager", select the
"Processes" tab, select OUTLOOK.exe, and click "Close", confirm you would
like to close the process, then close the task manager. Outlook should now
return to prompting for the profile you would like to use.

This is a fairly sure sign that Outlook isn't closing properly. See this:
