Profile keeps being removed

When I signed onto my laptop my profile had been removed and it began
reconfiguring it as if I was signing on for the first time. I logged off and
back on and it did the same thing again. I logged on as administrator and
went to view the profiles and mine was gone. I did a system restore from
about a month ago, signed on and my profile was fine, rebooted and it was
gone again. Has anyone ever seen this? I don't want to have to rebuild this
system due to time.

I am using XP SP2. I am on a company network with a domain. My profile is
not set as a roaming profile.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the entire folder structure deleted? Are you losing data when this
happens? Is the account set to be a member of the Administrator group?

If you're on a company network with a domain, and have been issued a laptop,
the place to start is probably with the company's IT group.

If there is no IT group other than you, you need to make a decision as to
how much time it's going to take you to figure out what happened and how to
fix it, vs. the few hours to just back up, wipe the drive, and start fresh.
How much time have you spent so far?

For myself, a complete Windows install, with updates and apps and data
migration, can take about four or five hours in elapsed time. Much of
that time is actually spent doing other things while the installs proceed,
with the occasional visit to select the time zone or press the Enter key.
It goes quickly if you collect all the install media first.
