Profile Issues

Posted this is wrong forum sorry..........here goes

We have users profiles stored on a win2k server. Now, in the drive with
the profiles, each users profile folder has duplicated itself with a _NTFRS
tagged on the end of the folder name.
Any info on why this would happen, and is it safe to delete these folders,
leaving the original profile folder there?

Thanks

First guess would be someone (tried to) used DFS to replicate the profile
shares/directories to multiple file servers.

That _NTFRS stands for the "File Replication Service" copies that are
use to replicate the data automatically (DFS uses FRS for automatic
replication.)
