Profile generation

I have an image of XP SP2 with a default profile for a user which can be
renamed at any time for multiple PC's. After a period of a few weeks of the
profile simply being renamed, Windows is creating a profile for the renamed
profile.

In docs & settings you can see the default profile and the renamed profile,
but in computer managment you can only see the profile which was renamed..?

This will soon become a huge problem, but at the moment it is limited to
twelve PC's.

This article mentions the 'cure', but not the cause of profile corruption.

My guess would be that the 'original' mini-setup (created by the sysprep.exe utility, in deploy.cab files) has some error in setup.
