Profile Error

When logging onto my computer, I received a profile
error. Win 2000 then went on to load some generic
profile. I restarted, but I can't seem to get my profile
back, I'll I get is this generic profile with no programs
loaded. If anyone knows how to get back my old profile
that would be great. This system is a stand alone system.

What is the exact text of the error message?
What do you see in your event logs?
